Meet our Directors and Execs
Horatio Georgestone
Horatio is the Founder of YDWC. His desire to spark positive global change and inspire people has driven a career that has spanned from Financial PR to the Civil Service.
He graduated from Aston University with a Bachelors degree in Politics with International Relations before graduating from University College London with a Masters degree in Global Governance and Ethics.
Georgia bennett
Georgia graduated from UCL in 2017 after completing her Masters in Civil Engineering and is currently an infrastructure development and economics consultant. She co-founded YDWC in 2016.
In the future she hopes to apply her industry knowledge to improve social mobility in low socio-economic areas by driving economic growth through infrastructure investments.
AWAIS HUSSAIN
Awais is a software engineer at a mission-driven startup in Senegal. He graduated in 2015 from Harvard University, and is enthusiastic about using technology to make an outsized difference in the developing world.
TAMIKA KALULE
Tamika is a software developer for a tier one bank. Prior to working in the financial sector, Tamika was an accredited Biomedical Scientist. These roles sparked her interest in AI and automation within the context of eHealth/mHealth.
JOEL SEMAKULA
Joel is a former investment banker turned barrister. He graduated in 2012 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and in 2016 from the University of Oxford. He is particularly interested in increasing access to the elite professions.
Medha Bhasin
Medha is a clerk in the House of Commons. She has a Master’s in Public Policy from Oxford and a BA in Geography from Cambridge. Medha is interested in environment, climate change and development policy.
Mustie Smith
Mustie is an accounting and finance graduate from the University of Surrey, currently training to become an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. He has previous trustee experience and is passionate about helping others achieve their goals.
Ebun Akindiya
Ebun graduated from Loughborough University in 2016 with a degree in Psychology. She became a Learning and Development Coach at Renaissance which set off her interest in education. She is passionate about growth in a digital world.
Shalisha Patrick
Shalisha graduated from Aston University with a First-Class Honours Degree in Mathematics in 2016 and in 2018 from the University of Oxford with a Master’s degree in Comparative Social Policy. She is passionate about developing innovative policy solutions to tackle social problems.
Precious Ighalo
Precious is Psychological Therapy Worker in The Private Sector. She graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2017. She is passionate about enriching the interconnection of young professionals and their mental health.
